White hat SEO can be summarized as an optimization that creates content for the searchers, –more than for the search engines themselves and then makes the content readily available to the spiders instead of trying to bypass the set of rules for their intended purpose.  Although somewhat similar to web development by promoting accessibility, the two are not exactly alike.  White hat SEO is also more likely to generate long term results, as opposed to black hat SEO.  The goal of this version of SEO is to get the clients to rate higher for relevant search phrases to create sales and promote content.
